His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to an official visit to Sweden

His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, in the framework of his official visit to Sweden on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Holy Metropolis of Sweden and all Scandinavia, on Sunday, September 29, he visited the Cathedral of St. Ephraim the Syrian in Stockholm, a Church of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

The Ecumenical Patriarch and his entourage were warmly welcomed by HE Archbishop Benjamin Atas, along with other Syrian bishops and clergy.

Patriarch Bartholomew laid a wreath at the Syrian Aramean Sayfo monument and then at the bustling Faithful Temple a prayer was made for all modern-day witnesses of Christianity, especially in the area of the East, which is so tempted by the multiannual war in Syria.

The Ecumenical Patriarch spoke appropriately, emphasizing the essential contribution of the Churches to the issue of world peace.
